Dream Deferred (Originally titled Harlem)
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

The pictures tear my heart out.
If you're analyzing it from their perspective, they may argue that for them it's not a dream, it's reality. Perhaps we are the ones dreaming.
That makes a lot of sense. I think the argument here is that a dream can be distinguished from reality according to its affects
You'll need to explain that one.
So their dreams cannot be reality, because they affect what?
